Following in the footsteps of royal brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry, Claygates own brothers, Mel and Andrew Streek, are set to take up the Enduro Africa challenge in 2009.

Enduro Africa is a unique motorcycle adventure in aid of four amazing causes: UNICEF, Sentebale – The Princes’ Fund for Lesotho, The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and Touch Africa.

With enormous support from the global biking family and the cream of the world’s biking press, Enduro Africa aims to raise at least £150,000 for South Africa and Lesotho. By joining this great cause and raising money to take part, Mel and Andrew will be helping to save the lives of some of Africa’s poorest people.

Although different in character, the Streek brothers have a very close relationship and do almost everything together; they share an office, live within a quarter of a mile of each other and their wives even gave birth on the same day in the same hospital.

Mel, 47 and Andrew, 45, will have their relationship pushed to the limit as they ride Honda CRF230 motorcycles along South Africa’s Wild Coast this October. The brothers will cover 1000 miles off-road in eight days, traversing some of the most demanding terrain with big drop-offs, monster climbs and a river crossing. All this, while dealing with the combined effects of extreme temperatures, badly maintained roads, early starts and very long days in the saddle.

By taking up the Enduro Africa challenge Mel and Andrew will become part of a life-changing adventure.
